Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

Winner of a 2022 Emmy® Award for Best Graphic Arts.

The Counterintelligence Division of the FBI was asking for the creation of an opening sequence for their documentary, Made in Beijing.

The film serves as a cautionary tale, shedding light on China's endeavors to gain advantage over the United States through cyber espionage, along with the infiltration of Chinese spies within American territory. The animated introduction establishes the context for the film by elucidating the current state of US-China relations and tracing the historical path that led us to this point.

Following the presentation of initial style frames, I took part in a two-month process of designing and animating, involving multiple rounds of graphics revisions and script refinements in between. Upon finalizing the opening sequence, my focus shifted to designing a graphics package that found consistent use throughout the entirety of the documentary.
